Test new evidence against the model

A protocol for placing public engineering evidence against the Evolution of Agentic Engineering without turning interpretation into observation or topic similarity into a claim relationship.

Protocol

Observation first. Claim relevance before verdict.

01 · ACQUIRE

Read the original public source, the active model claims, and the current research frontier.

02 · OBSERVE

Extract only what the source reports. Keep source-grounded facts separate from model-relative interpretation.

03 · MAP

Map only supported stages and Selection conditions. Add a claim relationship only when the source materially bears on that claim.

04 · INTERPRET

Describe variation as a mechanism when relevant; do not turn it into a stage or infer scale the source does not report.

05 · TEST

For each mapped claim choose SUPPORTS, REFINES, CONTRADICTS, or INCONCLUSIVE, then give one evidence-level model implication.

06 · FRONTIER + BOUND

Assess materially affected frontier items as ADVANCES, CHALLENGES, or DOES_NOT_ADVANCE, then state what remains unresolved.

Claim relationship rule

No mapping is not INCONCLUSIVE.

If a source does not evaluate, constrain, or otherwise provide relevant evidence about a claim, omit that claim relationship. Use INCONCLUSIVE only when the source materially bears on the claim but cannot establish support, refinement, or contradiction.

Classification vocabulary

Use the v0.2 structure

ApparitionVariation / mutation · mechanismSelectionCooperationSpecialization

Only Apparition, Selection, Cooperation and Specialization are stages. Variation can be discussed in interpretation but must not be entered as a stage mapping.

SCOPE IN SCOPE / OUT OF SCOPE SOURCE Title · producer · date · public URL OBSERVED Source-grounded observations only. STAGE MAPPING Apparition / Selection / Cooperation / Specialization VARIATION If relevant, describe the variants Selection can act upon. This is mechanism language, not a stage. SELECTION CONDITIONS Context / Execution / Verification / Coordination / Observability / Economics / Learning CLAIM RELATIONSHIPS Only claims materially addressed by the source. C01/C02/C03/C04 → SUPPORTS / REFINES / CONTRADICTS / INCONCLUSIVE INTERPRETATION What the observation may mean through the model. MODEL IMPLICATION Exactly one evidence-level verdict: SUPPORTS / REFINES / CONTRADICTS / INCONCLUSIVE RESEARCH FRONTIER IMPACT For each materially affected frontier item: ADVANCES / CHALLENGES / DOES_NOT_ADVANCE State what uncertainty changes and what remains unresolved. WHAT THIS DOES NOT ESTABLISH Evidence boundaries. OPEN QUESTION The next useful observation.
Agent instruction

A prompt you can use anywhere

Evaluate the following public source against the current Evolution of Agentic Engineering model at https://agenticengineering.science/. Read the original source, active model claims, and current research frontier before evaluating it. Separate observation from interpretation. Use only Apparition, Selection, Cooperation and Specialization as stages. Treat variation/mutation as a mechanism supplying variants for Selection, not as a stage. Map only Selection conditions supported by the evidence.

For claim relationships, map only claims the source materially bears on. Do not use INCONCLUSIVE to mean that a source does not address a claim; omit that claim instead. Use INCONCLUSIVE only when relevant evidence exists but does not establish support, refinement, or contradiction. Give exactly one evidence-level model implication. For each materially affected research-frontier item, state ADVANCES, CHALLENGES, or DOES_NOT_ADVANCE and explain what uncertainty changes and what remains unresolved. State what the source does not establish. Treat 1K-agent scale as a forcing function, not an industry benchmark.
